Tony Glover’s collection of over 300 cassette tapes presented to him by various friends and contacts in the music industry over the course of his career. These tapes span the full breadth of modern music, and are comprised of promos, compilations, and live performances, in addition to rare 78 RPM, 45 RPM, LP, and CD recordings, many of which have never been released in any format. This archive documents not only Glover’s diverse interest in music, but it represents a postdoctoral study of 20th century blues and beyond, dating from the 1920s with pioneers like Jimmie Rodgers and Huddie ‘Lead Belly’ Ledbetter right up until more recent times with influential chart-toppers like Prince and Nirvana. A transcription of the full catalogue of recordings is available upon request.
