Tony "Little Sun" Glover: The Bluesman's personal archive including his collection of Blues Harps

Tony Glover’s collection of harmonicas, musical recordings, and ephemera from his years as a blues and folk musician, which includes an impressive total of 53 M. Hohner harmonicas. The archive is as follows: an attractive 64 Chromonica professional model harmonica by M. Hohner, housed in its original case, which is marked on the bottom, “Nr. 280”; a wooden box with lid marked “Caution Radioactive Material,” which contains a set of 11 vintage Special 20 and Marine Band harmonicas by Hohner; a box of six Marine Band harmonicas by Hohner, each marked on the box top by Glover with the corresponding key; an assortment of 27 harmonicas, all of which are made by Hohner, which includes variations of Golden Melody, Marine Band, Blues Band, Special 20, Gold Frontier, Chordomonica, and Echo Super Vamper harps, the majority in their original box; a case containing eight M. Hohner’s Vest Pocket Harps, each with their original box marked with key: A, B, Bb, C, D, E, F, G; a Kent WC-17 harmonica pick-up with original box; a promotional poster for Koerner, Ray & Glover’s debut 1963 album Blues, Rags and Hollers, which mentions a meet-and-greet at “The Coffee Break, Oak & Washington Ave., (Next t Campus Theater)”; a poster for a “Thanksgiving Feast” featuring Koerner, Ray & Glover at the World Theater on November 27th; a “Woody Reflected” CD signed by Glover, Pop Wagner, and Charlie Maguire; a Red House Records CD reissue of Blues, Rags and Hollers by Koerner, Ray & Glover, with all three signing in black ink; a still-sealed CD entitled Music from the North Country—The Jayhawks Anthology; a master record for Ashes in My Whiskey by David Ray and Glover; a Nick Manoloff Modern Accompaniment Guide for Spanish guitar; and 11 pages of Glover’s handwritten recording notes.

Also included is a collection of 17 reel-to-reel audio tapes featuring Glover’s music, which includes the following handwritten titles: “My Songs / Fields of Color / Subterranean Homesick Dylan, Me Harp,” “Sonny Boy Williamson Tribute,” “Scholar—Glover & Graulin, 8/22/66 [2 tapes],” “Fields of Color / Burning,” “Empty Bottle / Lonely Tree,” “Snaker Ray and Glover, 7/28/62,” “Original Songs Demo, 1964 - 1966,” “Tony Glover, Song Demos (Dubs),” “Snaker Ray & Little Sun Glover, Audiophile Session & Elektra Acetate,” “John Koerner, Audiophile Session, 3/24/63,” “Daytons TV Commercial, Glover & Dave Carr, May 20, 1968,” “Asbury—Radio demo tape—Me,” “Tony Glover, KQ, 1972,” “Tony Glover, Elektra Dubs for Acetate,” and “Ray & Glover, Triangle Bar, 5/11/66.” In overall fine condition.
