Description

New York Yankees first baseman from 1915 to 1925, best known as the man who lost his job to Lou Gehrig. On June 2, 1925, Pipp took a day off due to a headache and was replaced by a young Gehrig—who then went on to play in 2,130 consecutive games. Vintage fountain pen signature, "Wally Pipp,” on an off-white 3 x 1.25 card. In fine condition. From the collection of Stephen Adamson.
