Two items: a bold ink signature of Robert Peary, "R. E. Peary," on a 3.75 x 1 slip clipped from a check; and a ballpoint signature of his 'first man,' "Matthew A. Henson, June 15/49," on a 5.5 x 2 card. In fine condition. Accompanied by a brief note sent to a collector in 1902, written in an unknown hand, relating that Peary has been in the arctic regions for four years and thus cannot reply to an autograph request.
