Partly-printed vellum DS as president, signed “Wm. H. Taft,” one page, 15 x 19.5, July 25, 1912. President Taft appoints Louis C. Scheibla as "a Lieutenant, junior grade, in the Navy." Signed neatly at the conclusion by Taft, and countersigned by Acting Secretary of the Navy Philip Andrews. Dark blue Navy Department seal remains affixed to lower vignette. In very good to fine condition, with creasing, stains to the bottom corners, and overall rippling.
