Signed prominently on the inside of the front cover in black ballpoint, "Matt Groening, 9/11/86," who above draws a huge sketch of Binky the rabbit. In fine condition, with a small crease to lower right corner of cover, which also bears some light dampstaining and wrinkling to bottom edge, just impinging on the first name of signature. This large sketch of Binky, the main character in Groening's celebrated Life in Hell comic strip, was drawn a full seven months before the Simpsons family premiered on The Tracey Ullman Show and still over three years away from their Fox network debut on December 17, 1989. The earliest sketch from Groening that we have ever offered.
