Description


Five books signed by artists, including Max Beerbohm, Rockwell Kent, Jacob Epstein, Yousuf Karsh, and Eric Sloane. Includes: a limited edition of Rossetti and His Circle, numbered 129/350, hardcover, signed on the colophon in ink by caricaturist Max Beerbohm; a first edition of N by E, hardcover, signed on the first free end page in fountain pen by illustrator Rockwell Kent; a limited edition of Epstein: An Autobiography, numbered 139/195, signed on the colophon in fountain pen by sculptor Jacob Epstein; a later printing of In Search of Greatness, hardcover with dust jacket, signed and inscribed on the first free end page in black felt tip by photographer Yousuf Karsh; a later printing of Legacy, hardcover with dust jacket, signed and inscribed on the first free end page in black felt tip by Eric Sloane, who adds a large sketch of a bird on an axe. In overall very good to fine condition, with significant wear and rubbing to the spine of the Epstein book, and some creasing and clipped dust jacket flap to the Sloane book. Accompanied by an unsigned first edition of Shelter Sketch Book by Henry Moore, which bears his facsimile signature on the first free end page.
