Roberto Clemente’s second-year Topps card stands out as one of the most eye-catching of the whole set: in the foreground, he prominently appears in a classic portrait wearing his Pittsburgh Pirates cap; in the background, he makes a famously difficult leaping catch against an ad-filled outfield wall. Though he hit .311 in 1956, Clemente’s breakout year came in 1960 when he earned his first of 15 All-Star Game selections. Renowned for his right field defense and strong arm, he would win the first of 12 consecutive Gold Gloves in 1961. Well centered with pack-fresh corners and edges, this exciting Clemente card is truly a mint standout. Only one has been graded higher by PSA.
