Letter to Monsieur Rochard, in full (translated): "A nephew of mine, whose affairs are not going well, writes me that he would like to be appointed as military superintendent in New Caledonia. He enlisted at the beginning of the 1870 war, was gravely wounded and was awarded the médaille militaire. He is only 34 years old.
