Two signed first edition books, both hardcovers with dust jackets: The Challenge to Liberty, published by Charles Scribner's Sons in 1934, signed and inscribed on the first free end page in fountain pen, "To George L. Gay—With the Kind Regards of Herbert Hoover"; and On Growing Up, published by William Morrow in 1962, signed on the half-title page in black ink, "and Merry Christmas from Herbert Hoover," below an unknown signature. In overall very good to fine condition, with toning and sunning to the Challenge to Liberty dust jacket, and a clipped front flap of the On Growing Up jacket.
