Group lot of material related to Chicago crime boss Al Capone, consisting of six photos and a copy of The Baltimore News from June 17, 1931, 16.5 x 21, with paper headline reading: "Al Capone Pleads Guilty; Faces 32 Years." The front page article features the subhead, "Gang Leader Throws Self Upon Mercy of the Court; Sentence Due on June 30," with lead paragraph reading: "'Scarface' Alphonse Capone, absolute ruler for a decade of the Chicago underworld, pleaded guilty today to evasion of income taxes and conspiracy to violate the prohibition act." Also includes seven glossy photos, ranging in size from 4.75 x 6.75 to 10 x 8, which includes three individual images of Capone, two of him with other gentlemen, one of his Baltimore estate on 5708 Pimlico Road, and a portrait of John Torrio, with the reverse of each photo bearing either stamps, captions, or annotations. The newspaper is framed to a slightly larger size. In overall very good to fine condition, with creasing and rippling to the photos.
