Exceedingly rare vintage glossy 8 x 10 photo of McNear as Floyd Lawson, the barber from The Andy Griffith Show, signed and inscribed in black ballpoint, "Best of luck always to Bonnie Lu, Friend, 'Floyd,' Howard McNear.” An ink notation to the reverse dates the signature to May 10, 1965. In very good to fine condition, with creasing to the left side, light surface impressions (some over McNear's face), and three binder dings to the right edge. Photos signed by McNear are virtually nonexistent, with this 'Floyd the Barber' example all the more rare and desirable. In over four decades of business, RR Auction has never offered a photograph signed by McNear, and have come across instances of his autograph a mere three times. A true television rarity.
