Two items: an ALS by Thomas ap Catesby Jones, a naval officer during the War of 1812 who later seized the port of Monterey during the Mexican-American War, signed "Tho's ap C. Jones," one page, 5 x 8, May 2, 1836, to a doctor, in part: "Little Martha has some symptoms…and we shall be exceedingly obliged to you if you will come up tomorrow"; and an ink signature of Charles G. Ridgeley, a naval officer who served during the First Barbary War and later commanded the USS Erie, signed "Ch. G. Ridgeley," on a 6 x 2.75 slip clipped from the close of a letter. In very good to fine condition, with scattered toning and soiling.
