Description

Italian novelist and poet (1901-1968) who received the 1959 Nobel Prize in Literature 'for his lyrical poetry, which with classical fire expresses the tragic experience of life in our own times.' Vintage glossy 5 x 7 photo of Quasimodo petting a small black cat in a garden, signed and inscribed in blue ink, "A Ken Browne, cordialmente, Salvatore Quasimodo, Milano, Marzo 1960.” In very good to fine condition, with several paperclip impressions and surface impressions to the top edge, and a light diagonal crease which passes across Quasimodo's pants. Accompanied by a personal calling card belonging to Quasimodo.
