Description

Declining submission to the "New York Shakespeare Festival"

TLS, one page, 8.25 x 10.5, April 27, 1965. Letter to noted set designer William Ritman, producer of the New York Shakespeare Festival, in full: "Thank you for your letter and interesting enclosures and for your invitation to contribute to your Show. I have too much on my mind and too many odds and ends to try and clear up to take you on anything new just now. And I doubt very much in any case my ability to do the kind of thing you need. But might have a go next year if you are still in need of material." The original mailing envelope is affixed below the text of the letter. In very good condition, with tears, holes, and tape stains to the perimeter; the body of the letter is unaffected.
