Description
Three items signed in ink or ballpoint by Nobel Prize-winning writer and illustrator Gunter Grass: a 4 x 5.75 postcard of a Grass sketch entitled 'Ich als Koch,' which shows an upset chef with lopped-off goose head; a 5.75 x 4 postcard of a Grass sketch entitled 'Die ratten üben den aufrechten Gang,' which shows a group of four upward-facing rats; and a typed English translation of his poem "Sleepless" on an off-white 6.25 x 9 sheet, which reads, in part: "My breath missed the needle's eye. / Now I must count / and homeward leaf down the stairs." In overall fine condition. Accompanied by an original mailing envelope.
