Though he remained controversial for the duration of his career, he attained a measure of Hollywood respectability with Academy Award nominations for his screenplays for The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie (1972) and That Obscure Object of Desire (1977). As for me, there is very little: I am still waiting for a call from the USSR. The day before yesterday I gave my script to Braumberger who seems very disposed to produce it and delighted…except that he needs to find money, which is an extremely easy thing to do these days.
