Two items: a glossy 10 x 8 close-up photo of the poet, signed and inscribed in blue felt tip, "Joyce & Ken Browne, Joy! Maya Angelou, July 2, '75" and a TLS, one page, 7.25 x 10.5, July 2, 1975, in part: "I am grateful to know that what I am trying to say is being heard. As a friend of mine so aptly puts it, 'We are in this thing life, together.'" She adds a handwritten postscript: "I hope you'll enjoy this book, and do let me hear from my Arizona friends, again." In very good to fine condition, with creasing to the photo, and staple holes to the upper left corner of the letter.
