Description
Broadsheet of his poem 'Am Acht und zwanzigsten August, 1826 [On the eight and twentieth of August, 1826],' one page, 5.5 x 8.25, boldly signed and inscribed at the bottom in ink by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. The printed poem begins: "Des Menschen Tage sind verflochten [Man's days are intertwined]." The reverse bears a handwritten annotation in another hand. In fine condition, with professionally restored paper loss to three border corners.
