Autograph poem on an off-white 5 x 6.75 sheet of his personal letterhead, signed at the conclusion in fountain pen, "Stephen Vincent Benet." Benet quotes from his poem 'The Mountain Whippoorwill,' in full: "Up in the mountains, its lonesome all the time / (Soft wind slein' thru' the sweet-potato vine) / Up in the mountains, its lonesome for a child / Whippoorwills a-callin', when the sap runs wild." In fine condition, with light edge toning. Accompanied by a small unsigned press photo.
