C. Heath and Company in 1940. Placed on a color copy background, the cel depicts the four characters navigating rough seas as they attempt to escape the jaws of Monstro the sperm whale. Total image measures 7 x 5, with a mat opening of 10.5 x 8.5. Quadruple-matted to an overall size of 16.5 x 14.5. In fine condition. An extremely rare and desirable offering given the intensity of the scene, the number of characters, and the unique format used by D. C. Heath, a company that opted to use animation cels instead of drawings for the publication of Pinocchio.
