Partly-printed DS as president, one page, 15.5 x 12.75, August 12, 1886. President Cleveland appoints Henry D. Linsley as "Postmaster at Branford, in the County of New Haven, State of Connecticut." Signed at the conclusion by Cleveland, and countersigned by Postmaster General William F. Vilas. Post Office Department seal with blue ribbon remains affixed to lower left corner. Framed to an overall size of 18.5 x 15.75. In very good condition, with mottled overall toning, and dampstaining to the two left corners.
