English boxer (1928-1966) who was considered by some to be Europe's best middleweight boxer of the 1940s and 1950s. In 1951 he became world middleweight champion when he defeated Sugar Ray Robinson. Later, bankrupt, he committed suicide in 1966. Vintage matte-finish 3.5 x 5.5 promotional photo of Randolph Turpin in a full-length boxing pose, signed in blue ballpoint by the former middleweight champ. In fine condition, with a few light spots of surface scuffing.
