Attractive pair of vintage matte-finish portraits of William Jennings Bryan and his wife Mary Baird Bryan, both are matted to an overall size of 10.25 x 9.5, signed on the mat in black ink, “’Won, 1880, one 1884.’ (from the wedding ring) Yours truly, W. J. Bryan.” Pencil notations on reverse explain that “1880 Won” refers to the year he began dating Mary Elizabeth Baird, and “1884 One” refers to the year they were married and became ‘one’ in the eyes of God. In very good condition, with chipping, toning, and soiling to the mount.
