American jump blues pianist, singer and songwriter (1915-1962), whose compositions went from blues to R&B numbers; he had a national hit on Specialty Records with 'One Room Country Shack,' now considered a blues standard, and toured with the jump blues band of Big Jay McNeely. American federation of Musicians contract in which Walton agrees to a three-hour recording session at Hollywood's Universal Recorders on the same day. Signed at the conclusion in black ink by Walton.
