Two items: a postal cover with a purple "Salutes Cdr. Schirra" cachet, postmarked at Cape Canaveral on October 3, 1962, the launch day of the Sigma 7 spacecraft, signed in black felt tip by Schirra's fellow Mercury astronaut, "J. H. Glenn, Jr."; and a TLS signed "J. H. Glenn, Jr.," one page, 8 x 10.5, NASA letterhead, January 28, 1963, addressed to H. J. Hare, in part: "I would like to thank you for your interest and thoughtfulness in writing to me about the flight of the Friendship 7 spacecraft…A great deal of valuable information was obtained from my flight and the flights of Alan Shepard, Gus Grissom, and Scott Carpenter. Each flight is a steppingstone in our ever-expanding manned space flight research program." In overall very good to fine condition, with scattered light creasing and toning, and a rusty paperclip impression to the top edge.
