Description

From the collection of Glam Slam's general manager

Prince's personally-owned and -worn brown, black, gray, and purple polyester geometric-patterned long-sleeve shirt with clear black buttons, featuring sewn-in shoulder pads and wide sleeves, worn by Prince in the 1990s. In fine condition. Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Mark Pudlitzke, whose brother acquired the shirt while working for Prince at the Glam Slam club, as well as a letter from Chris Davidson of PrinceArchives.com. Pudlitzke's letter reads, in part: "My brother [Paul] worked for entertainer, Prince commencing in 1990 and eventually became General Manager for all three of Prince's Glam Slam nightclubs in Minneapolis, Los Angeles and Miami…I am liquidating Paul's estate which includes personal items given to my brother by Prince and items that came from Prince's Glam Slam nightclub which was located at 110 N. 5th St. in Minneapolis, MN. This brown, black, gray and purple shirt was worn by Prince and given to my brother, Paul Pudlitzke." Davidson's letter reads, in part: "This brown, black, gray and purple geometric pattern shirt was purchased and worn by Prince in the early 1990s. Shoulder pads have been added most likely by the tailors in the clothing dept at Paisley Park. Prince's love for fashion and clothes is well documented. Prince's first wife, Mayte Garcia wrote in her book, The Most Beautiful: My Life with Prince, 'We would drive down Melrose in a limo and at each shop pick up racks of clothes under the 'fast and plenty' approach. His security would handle the details. On occasion he would even swipe my clothes and alter them to better fit him often adding shoulder pads. The best styles and sizes for him were often found by myself in the women's department.'" Also includes one of Paul Pudlitzke's Glam Slam business cards.
