Scarce 14 x 22 cardboard boxing-style promotional poster advertising the Rolling Stones’ 1978 album Some Girls, featuring the withdrawn artwork depicting celebrities such as Marilyn Monroe, Lucille Ball, Farrah Fawcett, and others. Printed by Colby Posters of Los Angeles, these were posted on telephone poles around the city. This unused example was obtained from a former employee of the company hired to post them at the time of the album’s release; he said that they were only posted in Los Angeles, and when the Stones were threatened with lawsuits by some of the celebrities pictured on the album cover, they were quickly pulled down by his company.
