Minnie Maddern Fiske was one of the leading American actresses of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century who led a fight against the Theatrical Syndicate for the sake of artistic freedom. She is widely considered one of the most important actresses on the American stage in the first quarter of the 20th century. Letters by Barrie referring to his most famous creation are quite scarce.
