ALS in French, signed “Humboldt,” one page, 4.5 x 7.25, no date. Untranslated letter to LouisFreycinet, a French navigator who in 1811 published the first full outline of the coast of Australia. Addressed on the reverse of the second integral page in Humboldt's hand. In fine condition, with seal-related paper loss to the integral address leaf. A desirable piece of correspondence between scientific colleagues.
