H. Glenn, Jr.,” one page, 8 x 10, NASA letterhead, December 10, 1962, in part: “The enthusiasm which you, and thousands of others, have shown for our National space effort is an inspiration to all of us who are associated with this vital activity. On behalf of all who are participating in this great team effort, I would like to express our gratitude to you. In accordance with your request I enclose autographed photographs of the Mercury Astronauts as well as some information on the space program”; and a color satin-finish 10 x 8 photo of John Glenn climbing into his Friendship 7 capsule, signed in silver ink by Glenn.
