American psychologist and social philosopher (1904-1990) who was the Edgar Pierce Professor of Psychology at Harvard University from 1958 until his retirement in 1974; contemporary academia considers Skinner a pioneer of modern behaviorism, along with John B. Watson and Ivan Pavlov. Two items: a glossy 5 x 7 bust-length portrait of Skinner, signed in black ballpoint; and a typed extract from Skinner's 1976 autobiography Particulars of My Life, one page, 8.5 x 11, signed in black ballpoint.
