Handsomely double-matted and framed with a bust-length photograph of Grant to an overall size of 15 x 16. In fine condition, with a light vertical fold, and expected bank stamps (affecting a single letter of the signature) and cancellation cuts to the body. A desirable example dating to the passing of the Reconstruction Acts, a period in which Grant’s influence protected the rights of more than 1,500 African-Americans elected to political office.
