Description


Priest whom Paul McCartney sings about in Eleanor Rigby. ALS signed “Father Tom McKenzie, Compere to the Beatles 1962-63,” one lined page both sides, 6 x 8.25, July 1, 1989. Letter to a long time Beatles fan, updating the recipient on recent events. In part, “If you decide to write to Beatles pen-pals let me know…One lady brought me a Christmas cake to the Cavern Walls on the day of John Lennon’s remembrance service December 8th and a Beatles fan who lives in Northwich knocked on my door on Christmas Eve and brought me a large bottle of Bells Whiskey.” In fine condition, with a bisecting horizontal mailing fold and a small notation to top edge.
