(we are no longer accepting bids on this item)
Minimum Bid: $1,000.00
Sold Price: $2,449.50

Description

Scarce TLS, one page, 6.75 x 8.75, 76 Sandfield Road, Oxford letterhead, May 9, 1967. Tolkien is grateful for an editor's contribution, in part: 'Thank you very much for the typed copies of your indexes. I think it is a very generous gift. It will probably be of considerable use to me when I have time to turn to the correction and improvement of the index provided in the revised edition of The Lord of the Rings...Thank you also for telling me of the pleasure you and your family have found in my works.' In fine condition, with a punch hole to the upper left corner. Great association with the Rings trilogy, Tolkien's most memorable work.
