Web Browser Upgrade Options

What a web browser is:
  • it is the software you are using to display this page.
  • it enables you to "browse" the world-wide web.

What is not a web browser:
  • AOL is not a web browser, though AOL includes a web browser (Internet Explorer) as part of their software.
  • Microsoft Windows is not a web browser, though a web browser (Internet Explorer) is normally installed along with Windows.

How can I tell the version of the web browser I am using?
On the "Help" menu of most web browsers is an item which begins with the word "about". Choose this menu item.

Why should I upgrade?
Your web browser software is your window to the world wide web (internet). Using a better web browser will ensure a more satisfactory experience with every website you visit.

Below are some links to a variety of good web browsers (most available for free).

Download Links For Web Browsers

If you're on a slow modem and don't want to be stuck downloading a new browser, many computer magazines come with a CD full of software. These often include the latest browsers too.
