ALS signed “W. C. Bryant,” one page, 4.75 x 7.75, July 9, 1872. Letter to Charles E. Jenkins. In part: “In my poem entitled Thanatopsis, ‘mysterious realm’ is the true reading. I am not properly the ‘editor’ of the ‘Library of Poetry and Song.’ I wrote the preface but did not read the proof, although I gave my advice, as to the inclusion of some of the poems and the omission of some others.” Framed to an overall size of 5.5 x 8.5. In fine condition, with light soiling, brushing to a couple letters, and a few stray ink marks. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
