Description  

Manuscript DS, one page, 9 x 13.75, circa 1781. Pay-table document for the second regiment of artillery in the Continental Army, signed by 20 members of the regiment, and certified and witnessed by two. In part: “Please to deliver the bearer…the ballance [sic] found Due us for our Services in the 2d Reg’t of Artillery, before the First Day of Jan’y 1782…This Certifies that the above Named soldiers served in the 2d Regiment of Artillery in the Continental Army Before Jan’y 1781.” Signers include: Lieutenant Stephen Allin, Lieutenant James Brewster, and Captain Lieutenant William Stevens. In very good condition, with fragile toned intersecting folds with slight separations, and expected document wear. RR Auction COA.
